Here is a litte history of who he was….It is celebrated on the 17th of March….I will be having a St.Patrick´s Day get together at Sheridan´s Bar…on the 17th of March, 2009 so don´t forget to show up……

Who Was St. Patrick?

St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years of exaggerated storytelling.

Taken Prisoner By Irish Raiders

It is known that St. Patrick was born in Britain to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Although his father was a Christian deacon, it has been suggested that he probably took on the role because of tax incentives and there is no evidence that Patrick came from a particularly religious family. At the age of sixteen, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders who were attacking his family’s estate. They transported him to Ireland where he spent six years in captivity. (There is some dispute over where this captivity took place. Although many believe he was taken to live in Mount Slemish in County Antrim, it is more likely that he was held in County Mayo near Killala.) During this time, he worked as a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid, he turned to his religion for solace, becoming a devout Christian. (It is also believed that Patrick first began to dream of converting the Irish people to Christianity during his captivity.)

Guided By Visions

After more than six years as a prisoner, Patrick escaped. According to his writing, a voice-which he believed to be God’s-spoke to him in a dream, telling him it was time to leave Ireland.

To do so, Patrick walked nearly 200 miles from County Mayo, where it is believed he was held, to the Irish coast. After escaping to Britain, Patrick reported that he experienced a second revelation-an angel in a dream tells him to return to Ireland as a missionary. Soon after, Patrick began religious training, a course of study that lasted more than fifteen years. After his ordination as a priest, he was sent to Ireland with a dual mission-to minister to Christians already living in Ireland and to begin to convert the Irish. (Interestingly, this mission contradicts the widely held notion that Patrick introduced Christianity to Ireland.)

Bonfires and Crosses

Familiar with the Irish language and culture, Patrick chose to incorporate traditional ritual into his lessons of Christianity instead of attempting to eradicate native Irish beliefs. For instance, he used bonfires to celebrate Easter since the Irish were used to honoring their gods with fire. He also superimposed a sun, a powerful Irish symbol, onto the Christian cross to create what is now called a Celtic cross, so that veneration of the symbol would seem more natural to the Irish. (Although there were a small number of Christians on the island when Patrick arrived, most Irish practiced a nature-based pagan religion. The Irish culture centered around a rich tradition of oral legend and myth. When this is considered, it is no surprise that the story of Patrick’s life became exaggerated over the centuries-spinning exciting tales to remember history has always been a part of the Irish way of life.)

Over the past few weeks I have been playing around on facebook and started getting reconnected to people that I haven´t seen or spoken to for almost 10 years. I would like to continue this trip back into time. So if you drop by my blog please leave a message as to what you are doing, where you are and how you´ve been.

Alex Rodrigues, Barry Bonds, Floyd Landis, et al. GO FUCK yourselves….you guys are and embarresment to the word SPORT. I completely agree with Pres.Obama when he stated that the acts of these athletes is a big disappoint. But not only for baseball but all sports.

These jackasses earn millions of dollars and they can´t ….excuse me DON´T realize the full responsibilities of there actions….Come ON!!!  How many kids do you think watch these guys play or perform…..millions and these kids look up to them. It is not fucking rocket science….if you know that you are being watched and that these children look up to you why dope up?….It proves to me and many other that you assholes don´t have any natural talent at all…. because if you did you wouldn´t need to use steriods, E.P.O. or whatever else you dumbasses use.

In Brasil, we have a professional soccer player doing beer commercials, who also happens to have a thing for Trannies. What the hell is that all about? He is promoting the use of alcohol just by putting his face on TV with a beer bottle in his hand. But do you think Ronaldo thought about the impression that this would leave on the millions of children that look up to him or admire him…Hell no!!! He was just waiting for the check from Bramha.

My advice to you small dicked rejects is the following:  Fess up to what you did, don´t hide behind lawyers and false truths . And just maybe, JUST, people will forgive you.  Don´t forget that you disappointed us and it´s not that other way around.

Well its Carnaval time and guess what? Brasil stops again for a few days. I had a question, what is the origin of Carnaval? Do you know why it is celebrated? If anyone has an idea let me know.

Recondite \REK-uhn-dyt\

Adj. – 1. Difficult to understand; abstruse.
                      2. Concerned with obscure subject matter.

And his fondness for stopping his readers short in their tracks with evidence of his recondite vocabulary is wonderfully irritating.

Draconian \dray-KOHN-ee-uhn; druh-\

Adj. - 1. Pertaining to Draco, a lawgiver of Athens, 621 B.C.
2. Excessively harsh; severe.

The most straightforward solution would be a draconian crackdown on all unrest

 – curfews, house-to-house searches, firing on armed rioters, mass internment,

widespread use of capital punishment for terrorists, and so on.

Yup! She´s back. This time she has seduced the likes of America´s sweetheart Micheal Phelps.  Good old Mary J. You can always depend on her to be there for you through thick and thin. Smoke that is.

I mean who cares if the guy smoked some pot. Who hasn´t? Of course we all have but it´s the very few that have actually inhaled.  Why are we going to bust the balls of a guy who smokes a little bit of weed here and there.  What about the baseball players jacked up on steroids and the cyclists screwing around with E.P.O. and blood doping.  Now that´s not natural. Atleast Cannibis is. Right?

And don´t get me started on alcohol. God Bless a cold beer on a hot summer day…for that matter any day really.  Statictics show that Alcohol kills more people per year around the world than Mary does.  So lets give her a break.  I am not condoning the use of Marijuana.  I am just saying that if we are going to start to create regulations on drugs, I believe that alcohol should be regulated and controled aswell.

For example, here in Brazil anyone can buy alcohol.  Eventhough, the legal drinking age is 18 no stores card individuals.  Why the hell do we have laws then?  I know many people who drink and drive on a regular basis. But now that there might be a blitz (police check point), we see alot of people taking taxis and rides.  That´s a start.  Countries around the world have taken notice of Brasil´s initiative to controlling Drinking and Driving.  Hopefully our population will benefit from these new controls. But like usually there is always that one idiot who drinks his ass off and gets behind the wheel.

What happens? Well, check tommorow´s local news or the obituaries in tommorow´s paper.
